Let’s begin with what is oily skin?

There is this particular thing called sebum which our body produces naturally. When our body produces this sebum excessively our skin becomes oily, thus results in oily skin

Sebum is made from or derived from fats. Sebum is not bad at all, in fact, helps to protect our skin by moisturizing and keeps our skin and hair healthy. But when it is overproduced it makes our skin greasy, oily.

What are the other causes of oily skin?

1.      Age: In teenagers or young people it is common to have oily skin. It is evident. No need to worry about this cause because as you grow older and older your body will produce less sebum.

2.      Genes: Some people might not agree with this but if you have family members who have the same skin type you are more likely to have it too. Family background plays a vital role here.

3.      Weather condition:  well, if your live in a place or work in an environment where there is more humidity or humid climate, you’re more likely to experience oily skin and clogged pores.

4.      Enlarged pores: You might have observed big big big pores on people’s faces. This is also an indication of an increase in sebum production, not to mention weather conditions too have an influence on this.

5.      Makeup and Cosmetic: This is the major cause of oily skin in teenage girls. No wonder using these heavy layers of cream and pore-blocking might work for the short term but in long run, it will just increase the development of oil and the chance of acne breakouts.

 

Ways to control or prevent oily skin,

However, proper amount and proper use of right products may work up to good extent but this alone will never work because sebum is something which produced from the body, so changing your diet is a must. Also, try to avoid oily food, keep it in moderation. Add green leafy and more vegetables. We will talk more about this in the below section.

1 Wash Your face Every day:  Yes, washing your twice a day is important. f Wash your face after you wake up in the morning and wash your face before going to bed. Doing this will not only reduces oil but also helps to clean up the dirt on your face. Caution, don’t do it excessively or it will have a negative impact on your face. Washing your face 2 to 3 times with face wash is recommended. Other times just use plain water. Also do not use face wash which is loaded with harsh chemicals.

2. Use the beauty products which are designed according to your skin type:

Many people without any knowledge about the root cause of the problem use products which are not designed for their skin type, this will impact negatively. Never ever use all-in-one products or normal use, those types of products are more likely to make their way to your cabinet.

3. Moisturize your skin regularly:

Yes, you have to make a routine of using a good moisturizer according to your skin type regularly.
